Digicam effect: a 2000s digital camera, from your phone

What makes the digicam look?

• Harsh flash: the person in front is bright, the background falls off to dark, highlights blow out.
• CCD colours: slightly cool, leaning blue-green, saturated.
• Low resolution: the coarse pixels of a few-megapixel sensor and a digital sharpening halo.
• Date stamp: an orange '26 10 23 in the bottom right.

Step by step

1. Open Retro Effect; Digicam is already picked. Add your photo or video.
2. In the Cameras & Prints tab pick Digicam, Digicam no flash or Disposable.
3. Tune Flash, CCD colours, Low resolution and Noise.
4. The date stamp turns on by itself. Change the date or turn it off in the HUD panel.
5. Download. On video the look and the date are on every frame.

For the best result

• Close-ups at night or in dim light look most real with the flash.
• For daylight photos Digicam no flash looks more natural.
• For a film feel try Disposable: grain, light leaks and warm tones.
• In the same spirit there is the Polaroid and the 2000s phone camera.

How do I make a digicam effect?

Can I change the date stamp?

Yes. Type any date into the Date field of the HUD panel, or turn the HUD off.
